OUR NAME PR’ FIK

In the Gorenjska region it has been a tradition for centuries that each land, house, bar, mill or farm has its own house name. The house was usually named after the landowner, activity, local features or even after an animal, basically anything the house was best represented by or famous for.

Pr’ Fik is an old house name for a mill in the village Visoko near Kranj, first mentioned in written records in the 18th century and active until the end of the 20th century. According to historical documents the house name Pr’ Fik derives from the family name of one of the first landowners from the period between the 16th and 17th century. Where the old mill Pr’ Fik once stood, there are apartment houses today continuing the story...

FAMILY

Our Balažič family bought the land of the mill Pr’ Fik in 2012.  Our family of three generations consists of the mother Andreja, Viktor, the father, and their sons Gregor and Viktor with Maja, Žiga and Eva. The parents spend time with their family, friends, enjoy relaxed conversations, hobbies and other pleasant chores.  Gregor, Viktor and Maja take care of the pleasant, interesting and cozy environment at the house Pr’ Fik.

 Žiga and Eva bring liveliness to the place and represent our future.   

We also have to mention our puppy Mali and two kittens Nina and Puhek ... Highly qualified staff to welcome all sorts of guests...

THE APARTMENT STORY

Here at the apartments Pr’ Fik we have decided to show you a piece of paradise by the Kokra river. In 2015 we welcomed our first guests in the new apartments Pr’ Fik. The old mill story of Pr’ Fik has been recreated and redesigned, the houses with cozy apartments are modern, equipped with quality and traditional materials, colors, warmth and intimacy in the arms of an old orchard, mighty walnut tree and the clear Kokra river canyon.  Under the treetops you can rest your body and soul and by the Kokra river you can turn back the clock and think of the old village life by the St. Vid Church and the times when the mill ground the cereals or when the laundresses hand washed the linen by the river. 

Filled with fresh energy you will not be able to simply stay still. With so many mountains, forests, country roads, lakes, rivers and flatlands around us here in the Gorenjska region you will have plenty to do in all seasons. Take a bike, boat, swimsuit, parachute, “snickers”, hiking shoes, or skis and you will never get bored. After you are done with relaxation in the nature and sports activities, you can visit the city nearby, filled with culture, local cuisine, fun activities, architecture and many more. Pr’ Fik is just enough close to the sea, karstic caves, ski slopes, lakes, mountains, natural and cultural local sights. Here you will get just the right amount of everything...
